We have cats,
but despite this fact,
we have mice–
in the walls,
ceiling, fireplace–scurrying,
driving us all nuts.

Please note, that
baits have been set out …
now we wait,
hating we
have to kill them; still, it will
be nice when they’re gone.

Gotta find yourself a real mouser. I think the mice can sense ’em and bolt. Of course one has to put up with a few (dead) presents left about or on the door step. ๐

One of the cats did catch a mouse a couple of weeks ago and we rescued it and put it outside. Another one showed up in our family room last night. Or it might be the same one? ๐

A lovely pair of Shadorma poems. Our cat gave up on hunting a couple of years ago.

Ours aren’t really hunters by any means. Prudie may have been as a kitten. She was rescued from a hoarder’s where she had been outside in November, and I suspect, killed a few things to stay fed. Charlie’s never been outside. He “hunts” cloth mice and peanuts.๐น

Ninja was a rescue cat and also hunted when we first got her. Not any more though.
