Oh, how awful! I’ve never done it before. I always honk at squirrels and this pair of birds just flew across the road from a field. They were too low. I couldn’t miss them! I’m consoling myself by saying it had to have died instantly, but then I think of the one who flew ahead.😢
In U.K. I saw some research that cats and cars dispatch some estimated 6 million birds each year. Seems a lot really, but lots of cars and cats. I have one of each.
It saddens me. I keep my cats indoors so they don’t contribute to the carnage. Unfortunately, with medical appointments in the city, a car is not an option. 😦
Doesn’t it just get you? I once hit a flock of swallows that were sitting in the middle of a road in France, devastating.

My Prudie “hunts” rolled socks. We find them all over the house. Usually they are laundry, so I can accept her gifts and be thankful. ha ha
